Asociación para la Innovación y el Desarrollo Sostenible

With our Asscociaton, we are committed to protecting the environment and improving the health and living conditions of communities around Lake Atitlán through ecological projects. Lake Atitlán is threatened by waste streams such as untreated sewage sludge (approx. 8,000 tons/year) that pollute water sources, release methane, and undermine ecosystem health. Since 2023 we are safely collecting waste streams such as sewage sludge, and agricultural residues and safely treat them.

Since 2018, we have collaborated with Mosan to implement innovative circular solutions that prioritize environmental conservation and community well-being. The approach combines eco-friendly technologies, such as the Mosan dry toilet, off-grid pyrolysis treatment and creative capacity building, and education on health and regenerative practices. By working together with families and local partners, we are helping to create healthier, more sustainable communities while protecting the beauty of Lake Atitlán for future generations.
